Engineer Basem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamar, Minister of Housing, confirmed that the Ministry is working continuously to strengthen partnership with the private sector, in order to provide innovative housing options and solutions that ensure the speedy provision of housing units for citizens.
This came during the visit of the Minister of Housing to the Al-Lozi housing project, which is included in the government land rights development program, as it witnesses advanced completion rates of about 70%, exceeding the schedule set for it, within the framework of cooperation with the project developer, Al-Naml Contracting and Trading Company.
The minister said that the acceleration of the implementation of such projects by private sector companies enhances confidence in the success of this program, and confirms the success of the Ministry of Housing and the Housing Bank in qualifying real estate development and contracting companies, especially while adhering to the required technical standards.
Engineer Basem bin Yaqoub Al Hamer explained that the ministry's plans come to diversify housing options in accordance with the directives of the esteemed government, drawn from the principles and objectives of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, pointing out that housing projects at the present time contribute to the increase and diversity of projects designated for social housing by real estate developers, as well as The banks provided financing solutions supported by the esteemed government, which was reflected in the abundance of solutions and options for citizens to benefit from housing services.
The minister indicated that the Al-Lawzi housing project, which represents the first implementation of housing projects within this program, includes the implementation of 132 housing units, in addition to secondary infrastructure works, and represents the pilot version of the government land rights development program, which represents a new qualitative leap in the level of cooperation between the government sectors. and the private sector to provide social housing projects, pointing out that the ministry is constantly keen to search for innovative solutions that contribute to increasing the supply of housing services and products, which is the approach adopted by the esteemed government, and implemented by the ministry in recent years.
Eng. Al-Hamar also added that the ministry aims, through this program, if its trial version is successful, to build 19,000 housing units on government lands, stressing that the appropriate climate provided by the esteemed government to real estate development companies has greatly contributed to the success of initiatives to involve the private sector in providing housing projects that meet housing needs of citizens.
