Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamr, Minister of Housing, stated that the number of beneficiaries of the "Mazaya" program since the beginning of this year has reached 490, bringing the total number of beneficiaries so far to 7001, indicating that the number of beneficiaries of the program during the year 2021 according to the ministry’s statistics has reached 1691 Beneficiaries.
The minister said that the average value of housing units purchased by the beneficiaries amounted to about 109 thousand Bahraini dinars, and that the largest percentage of the units that the beneficiaries purchased were concentrated in the northern governorate at 45%, followed by Muharraq governorate at 43%, then the capital and southern governorates. At 6% each.
He also indicated that the percentage of purchasing housing units in Muharraq Governorate was 87% compared to 13% for ownership apartments, and in the North, the percentage of purchase of units reached 79% and apartments 21%, while the percentage of purchase of units in the Southern Governorate was 92% compared to 8% for ownership apartments, and the capital 100 % Housing units.
The minister stated that the largest segment of the beneficiaries of the program included citizens whose monthly income ranges from 600 to 700 dinars at a rate of 40%, followed by the salary bracket from 701 to 800 dinars by 26%, then the 801 to 901 bracket by 13%.
On the other hand, Eng. Basem Al-Hamar pointed out that converting the application service to benefit from the Mazaya program into an electronic service through the new electronic platform of the Ministry of Housing has contributed to facilitating and expediting the citizens' procedures, as the citizen only has to submit the application electronically and attach the required documents, to start the cycle His procedural request is through the internal electronic system with the financing banks, which saves the citizen time and effort.
The Minister of Housing praised the efforts and cooperation of the funded banks to provide financing solutions to citizens, whether by facilitating and expediting procedures that ensure immediate access to housing service, or through promotional offers that allow citizens great financing flexibility to choose suitable housing that meets his needs in terms of geographical location, area and components. Interior of the housing unit, noting the prominent role of the Housing Bank in communicating with financing banks, and its efforts to increase the number of banks included in the program.
The minister said that the Ministry of Housing and the Housing Bank are conducting continuous monitoring of all stages of the procedural cycle to benefit from the Mazaya program, with the aim of finding opportunities for improvement and development, to ensure the speed of procedures and prompt access to adequate housing, noting that the Mazaya program confirms the success of the government's vision in providing immediate services For citizens through partnership with the private sector.
