Kingdom of Bahrain - Manama: Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, Minister of Housing, launched, within the first phase of the electronic transformation plan for the Ministry of Housing services, 5 new electronic services that included the provision of a “housing application” service, the “housing application inquiry service” and the service of updating contact and account information The bank “Advantage Application” service and the “Apply for Funding” service via the national e-government portal bahrain.bh, the inauguration meeting, which was held via visual communication technology, was attended by Mr. Muhammad Ali Al-Qaed, CEO of the Information and eGovernment Authority, and Sheikh Khalid bin Hammoud Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing, Dr. Zakaria Ahmed Al-Khajah, Executive Vice President for Electronic Transformation at the Authority, and Dr. Khaled Al-Haidan, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing.
On this occasion, the Minister of Housing affirmed that the launch of these services came within the framework of the commitment to achieve the aspirations of His Majesty the King, may God preserve and protect him, which emphasized the importance of achieving digital transformation and employing modern technologies in various fields in order to improve all services and systems provided to citizens. It contributes to supporting and achieving the sustainable development goals. It also came in implementation of the decisions issued by the esteemed Council of Ministers regarding the importance of working to quickly activate the plans for digital transformation of government agencies, and work to accelerate the pace of transformation of the services provided by these bodies to citizens and residents.
The minister added that the electronic housing services also come in line with the unified framework for government programs in its updated second version, with regard to developing electronic services in order to facilitate procedures for customers, indicating that the bulk of the axes of the Ministry of Housing’s digital transformation plan are scheduled to be completed by the middle of the year. In order to keep adding some electronic services, such as the right to dispose of, the electronic contract, and others, provided that the ministry then begins developing a plan for the application of artificial intelligence in electronic services.
