Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamr, Minister of Housing, stated that the number of beneficiaries of the "Mazaya" program has reached 1665 beneficiaries during the year 2020, pointing to the interest of the program, which has reached the total number of beneficiaries since its inception to 6,485 according to the statistics issued by the Ministry's database.
The Minister of Housing confirmed that the total number of qualification certificates for citizens wishing to benefit from the "Mazaya" program during this year reached 2046 certificates, and that 1665 citizens of the beneficiaries received their units on the specified dates after completing the procedures for obtaining financing from the financing bank, noting that The Ministry is keen to develop the program by shortening the procedural cycle of the request, especially since it has become one of the programs affecting the real estate market movement in the Kingdom.
Regarding the geographical distribution of units and ownership apartments that benefited from the "Mazaya" program, the minister said that Muharraq governorate was at the forefront of the governorates, which had witnessed a large turnout on the scale of the purchase of units and apartments for ownership from the private sector by 55%, and the percentage of housing units purchased in Governorate 94% compared to 6% for ownership apartments.
He added that the Northern Governorate came in second place in terms of turnout with a rate of 30%, of which 14% of ownership apartments compared to 86% of housing units, followed by the Capital Governorate by 9%, 8% of ownership apartments compared to 92% of housing units, then the Southern Governorate, which reached a percentage of Beneficiaries 6%, 75% of housing units and 25% of ownership apartments.
In a related context, Engineer Basem Al-Hamer said that the Mazaya program represents an embodiment of the success of the partnership between the public and private sectors, noting that this program was able to meet thousands of housing requests within a short period of time, pointing out that the average value of the prices of units and apartments that citizens actually benefited from This program amounts to 101,228 dinars.
The Minister of Housing noted the role of banks and commercial banks in contributing to the provision of "Mazaya" financing, and the facilities and offers they provide, which contributed to increasing the demand for the program, and obtaining housing units provided by the private sector with ease, noting that the diversification of financing solutions provided by Mazaya program is one of the housing axes included in the government program.
He said that the "Mazaya" program confirms the success of the esteemed government's vision of engaging the private sector in providing social housing services to citizens, which allows citizens the freedom to choose their housing unit in terms of location, area and unit components, through projects of real estate development companies approved by the Ministry, or Other units that meet the technical specifications of the ministry.
