With reference to what was stated in the column of "The Third Opinion" of the journalist, Muhammad Al-Mahmeed, published in Akhbar Al-Khaleej newspaper, issue number 15568 on November 6, 2020, entitled "The Birthday of a Traffic Light", the Ministry of Housing is pleased to clarify the following:

First of all, the Ministry takes this opportunity to extend its thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning for the efforts it is undertaking at the level of the Kingdom, the cooperation he attaches with the Ministry of Housing and his keenness and the Ministry officials to be present in the aforementioned visit, whose motives we will explain in the course of this response, As that visit had coordination goals and the two ministers' keenness to be present and attend the final procedures to complete the transfer of the infrastructure to the Ministry of Works, Works Affairs and Urban Planning, a matter that applies to all joint projects between the two ministries.

We would like to clarify that the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Housing and the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and officials of the two ministries to Salman City, which has been covered in the media recently, aimed at several goals that go beyond the issue of opening a traffic light, as you know that Salman City is one of the New Bahrain cities that the esteemed government has paid great attention to in terms of planning, which go beyond building housing units only, as the government was keen on the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Honorable Prime Minister and with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander First Deputy Prime Minister to include in the city all facilities, services and infrastructure that keep pace with modern specifications and simulate global cities in terms of road construction, sewage treatment projects and rainwater drainage, and the goal is to create sustainable cities with high quality to serve citizens.

The Kingdom's visions and efforts have been translated on the ground in the new cities through the establishment of advanced road networks of specifications, and the establishment of sewage networks linked to a station with advanced specifications for wastewater treatment serving Salman City and the surrounding areas and villages, and it is the station that was opened earlier in the presence of the government. High-level technology as a new technology making great use in this area.

In this regard, the Ministry states that the volume of spending on infrastructure works in the city of Salman is estimated at 155 million Bahraini dinars, and this spending contributed to the implementation of the main sewage treatment plant and associated transport pumps, in addition to the sewage networks, whose main and subsidiary lines extend over A distance of approximately 60 kilometers for the first stages of the city, in addition to the implementation of 55 kilometers of main and secondary roads to serve the southern part of the city, about 30 kilometers of paths for cycling and walking, and nearly 20 hectares of landscaping and landscaping works for main and secondary roads, and integrated irrigation systems, In addition to the implementation of 4 vehicle bridges, two pedestrian bridges, in addition to 20 traffic lights for vehicles in the first stages of the city.

The ministry clarifies that the aforementioned infrastructure services are handed over to the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning according to an action plan, and the last visit marked the transfer of the custody of the pedestrian signal system to from the Ministry of Housing to the Ministry of Works according to that plan.
Returning to the part of the new system for traffic lights in Salman City, we would like to clarify that this visit comes within the framework of coordination plans to transfer the infrastructure for new projects from the Ministry of Housing to the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, including the new system for the system of transit signals Pedestrians in that new city.

There is also a media content for that visit, which is to deliver a message to the residents and visitors of the city with the official operation of this type of signals to adhere to them out of concern for their safety and the safety of pedestrian crossing, especially after the increase in the number of citizens who use roads from vehicle drivers, walkers and cyclists. , And reduce abuses.

We would also like to point out that the visit included, on the sidelines, a visit to the sewage treatment water treatment plant after completion of the completion rates in it, and to inform the representatives and members of the Municipal Council about what the government has accomplished in terms of special development projects in the new cities of Bahrain.
Based on the above clarifications, this visit does not reduce its content to the opening of a traffic light. Rather, the aim was coordination between the ministries and the concerned authorities in terms of the complementary relationship between ministries and government institutions in the Kingdom to implement the goals stated in the government program.
