Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamr, Minister of Housing, confirmed that the completion rates in residential neighborhoods under implementation in East Hadd city are witnessing remarkable progress during the current time, in light of the Ministry's efforts to accelerate the pace of work on its projects under construction, to ensure the speed of progress in the implementation plan of the order of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the beloved king of the country, has built 40,000 housing units, in addition to the Ministry’s keenness to quickly meet the housing units of the citizens nominated to benefit from these projects.
The Minister of Housing said during an inspection tour of the city of East Hidd, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, and a number of officials and site engineers, that the second phase of the Bushaheen neighborhood project, which consists of 398 housing units, has reached 90% completion rates, while the construction work has been completed with neighborhood units. Qlaya`a, which numbered 740 housing units, by 100%, while the completion percentage in Umm Al-Sawali neighborhood, which consists of 375 housing units, witnessed about 91%.
The minister added that the Isolation neighborhood, which is implemented in two phases, has reached 61% of completion in its first phase, which is the phase with 271 housing units, while the completion rates in 507 housing units representing the second phase of the neighborhood have reached 56%.
The engineer said that the progress of completion rates in the stages of East Hidd city is accompanied by preparations by the ministry to implement the allocation and housing procedures according to a timetable prepared for that, similar to the first phase of Bushaheen neighborhood, which represents the first neighborhoods that were actually inhabited for eligible citizens, as the ministry seeks to accommodate phase by stage The other, starting from the end of this year and the beginning of next year.
The minister referred to the completion rates in the infrastructure works in the city, noting that the percentage of completion in the implementation of these works in all neighborhoods of the city has reached 80%, which certainly contributes to the speed of delivery of units once completed and linked to these services.
The minister noted that the ministry is in continuous contact with all relevant ministries and service bodies to coordinate the provision of facilities and services in the city, with the aim of implementing all of what was mentioned in the city’s general plan, indicating that this coordination comes within the framework of the complementary relationship between the Kingdom’s ministries to implement the common goals contained in Government program.
Al-Hamr affirmed that the progress made by the esteemed government regarding the file of the new Bahrain cities reflects the royal sponsorship of the social housing file in the Kingdom, and the esteemed government's keenness to make this file at the forefront of its priorities, given that the citizen is the main pillar of development, and thus the government is keen to provide decent livelihoods. By providing him with adequate housing.
He added that the interest of the wise leadership and the esteemed government in building cities was not limited to providing housing units, but extended to include interest in the components of those cities in terms of facilities and services and adopting the best modern design standards for road networks, sewage and bridge networks, as well as providing green spaces, walkways and attention to aesthetics. Which is reflected in the completed stages of those cities.
