The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning stated that the expenditure of housing allowance for citizens who did not initiate the procedure of updating income data for existing housing applicants was resumed during the time period announced for the modernization, which ran from 4 August until 31 October 2024, followed by an additional deadline until mid-November. Noting that the payment of allowances for applications that have been updated after the expiration of the stated time limit is resumed from the date of the application's update and without retroactive disbursement.
The Ministry said that measures to update income data have seen a broad response by citizens since the announcement of the timeline in the light of the ease of electronic updating without the need to review the Ministry, The modernization procedure was limited to attaching only one document containing proof of the applicant's income Actions announced in the various media, In addition to sending notices to citizens whose applications are included in the Ministry's database.
The Ministry reported that since mid-January, it had provided additional time for applicants who had not been updated on time to adjust their applications and update income data electronically. Therefore, the payment of the allowance to citizens was resumed after the correction of their housing applications through the required modernization procedure.
The Ministry also launched an accompanying service to conduct the update, including the possibility of booking an appointment for a service "Income Update Service enquiries" via the Ministry's website, which allowed citizens to communicate visually with the employee of the Customer Service Center to respond to questions related to the update service. The Ministry also provided support and assistance services via the Ministry's hotline 80008001 in addition to interactive communication services available via the Remote Customer Service Center platform on the Ministry's website.
The Ministry reported that the modernization of housing applications is a periodic procedure implemented with the aim of updating the Ministry's database and information, which contributes to supporting development plans and planning the provision of housing services to citizens. The procedure also aims to ensure that citizens' data conform to the criteria for accessing the applicant service.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning had launched in early August a time program that ran until 31 October 2024 to update applications, accompanied by an information campaign that stressed the initiative of all housing applicants to update their income data, and with the expiration of the official deadline to extend the update period until mid-November.
