Engineer Muhammad Rashdan, Director of the Projects Construction and Maintenance Department at the Ministry of Housing, stressed the importance of providing engineers with all the necessary skills in the construction field and educating them in a way that achieves the interest of the beneficiaries of housing services and developers, and in line with the axis of developing government services provided to beneficiaries.
Engineer Rashdan referred to the Ministry's aspirations to develop and raise the quality of services provided through the management of the construction and maintenance of housing projects to get out better, which enjoys direct support and encouragement from His Excellency Engineer Basem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, Minister of Housing, to reflect this on modern housing projects in Bahrain's cities.
This came during the inauguration of the workshop on Wednesday, organized by the Ministry of Housing for its employees, as part of a series of workshops launched by the Projects Construction and Maintenance Department for the executive procedures presented by Engineer Rawan Basem Awad and Engineer Faraz Ahmed, which will last for 3 consecutive days in the Ministry building.
Engineer Rashdan stressed that the workshop comes “in recognition of the many challenges facing engineering and construction field work, which calls for improving the performance of the administration in light of the rapid growth of housing projects, and the emergence of new ideas and diverse experiences exchanged by engineers through their participation in a series of successive workshops. He also welcomed the submission of any ideas Innovative that will work to achieve awareness and education in various engineering procedures through which the maximum benefit can be achieved for workers in the engineering field and its specializations.
During the workshop, Engineer Rawan Awad gave a detailed and practical explanation about the approved and updated guide to materials quality for the Department of Material Quality and Standards. For his part, Eng. Faraz Ahmed focused on the provisions and laws of issuing a work completion certificate and a certificate of freedom from engineering defects.
The mechanism of workflow in the construction department and the quality department was also discussed, which contributes to the speedy completion of housing projects, clarifying the basic steps used to complete all government transactions related to the housing project, and specifying the time periods that must be adhered to in the management of construction and maintenance of housing projects.
It is worth mentioning that this workshop is part of a series of workshops organized for various departments in implementation of the vision and plan of His Excellency the Minister of Housing, Eng. Basem bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, to raise the efficiency and quality of engineering work at the ministry level.
