Minister Al-Rumaihi stated during her inspection visit to the city today, Sunday, in the presence of a number of officials of the Ministry and the engineering team of the project, that the implementation stages of the East Sitra city project are proceeding at an accelerated pace, as the Ministry seeks to start operating the first phase of the city immediately after the completion of the first phase of the project, which It will witness the relocation of 1077 families of citizens who obtained nomination certificates, confirming the Ministry's keenness to conduct construction and infrastructure works in parallel, which qualifies for the speedy delivery of units to citizens according to the scheduled dates.
The minister also indicated, upon being briefed on the progress of the work of the second phase of the project, which includes the provision of 563 housing plots, that the percentage of completion in the plan to supply the plots with infrastructure services has reached 15%, and that this percentage will witness a rapid increase during the next stage, useful that the ongoing infrastructure works Currently, it includes laying sewage lines, rainwater drainage lines, water lines, and the electricity network, in addition to main and secondary roads, as well as plot leveling works, noting that these works qualify the beneficiaries of the plots service to immediately start building them as soon as they receive them.
The inspection visit of the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning witnessed the opening of the model neighborhood of the city of East Sitra, which includes ready-made housing units and a furnished housing unit, which were prepared as a model for informing citizens and visitors of the models of developed designs prepared by the Ministry, whether related to planning the residential neighborhood or the housing unit.
Minister Amna Al-Rumaihi announced that it will be possible for citizens who have nomination certificates to benefit from the city’s units to visit the model neighborhood and see the model of the neighborhood, the furnished housing unit, and the entrances and exits of the city according to the city’s general plan, provided that the mechanism for visiting the model neighborhood is by booking an appointment via the website. The Ministry, which provides appointments on “Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays” of each week from nine o’clock in the morning until one o’clock in the afternoon, and the visitors are accompanied by an engineering guide to explain the components of the neighborhood in particular and the city in general.
The Minister of Housing indicated that the city of East Sitra is one of the main projects that the Ministry is working on completing its various phases during the coming period, as the project is being implemented in cooperation with “CMEC”, one of the largest companies specialized in the contracting sector in the Republic of China, noting that the city is characterized by the availability of All facilities and services included in the project plan, which will serve the city's residents, including health, educational, and commercial facilities, in addition to places of worship.
The city is also distinguished by its coastal location, the availability of water canals, green spaces, and areas designated for children's games, noting that the availability of these components comes within the framework of the esteemed government's vision regarding improving social housing services, and providing the elements of quality of life and sustainability in housing cities.
