On the occasion of the International Day of Cities, which falls on the 31st of October, the Minister of Housing said that this occasion is a good opportunity to recall the Bahraini experience in building housing cities, and that they have so far provided 8 cities, in 3 cities that were built in the last century, namely the cities of Isa, Hamad and Zayed, as well as On the construction of 5 cities in the new millennium, namely the cities of Salman, Khalifa, East Hadd, East Sitra, and the suburb of Ramli, noting that these cities have become part of the Kingdom's identity after new urban communities were formed, reflecting the success of that vision.

And he added that the idea of ​​the new Bahrain cities that the ministry is currently building within the framework of a plan to implement the royal order to build 40,000 housing units, inspired by the success of establishing Isa Town, Hamad Town and Zayed City, and that the new cities once again confirmed the success of that vision, which Embodied in the first stages in which citizens were settled.

The minister indicated that the slogan of the International Day of Cities for this year discusses the title “Appreciating the importance of our societies and cities.” In its topic, the impact of urban expansion in creating new types of social inclusion, including access to adequate housing, indicated that the implications of this topic confirm the future outlook Upon its founding, the Kingdom has the right to approach the housing process in the early sixties of the last century. He also confirmed that the subject of this title is actually realized through the current methodology of managing the housing file.

He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain was able to achieve the equation of implementing housing cities with integrated facilities and services, and all the elements of quality of life are available, while achieving harmony between the new residents of these cities to form modern urban societies while preserving the character of the social fabric that the government attaches great importance in the various regions of the Kingdom, indicating in this Concerning that presenting the Kingdom's experience in international forums is always admired and appreciated by international organizations and member states of the United Nations.

The Minister said that the World Cities Day event also represents an opportunity to highlight the Kingdom's participation by the international community in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, especially the eleventh goal, which aspires to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe and sustainable, stressing that the Kingdom has made long strides in terms of The implementation of this goal, which the Kingdom has long pursued.
