In support of the initiatives of the National Plan of Action to Achieve Carbon Neutrality announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of the country's Great King In the framework of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers, may he launch Tree Week in the third week of October each year, Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, participated in the afforestation of 4 housing cities by planting 100 seedlings in Salman Housing City, Khalifa Housing City, Al-Hadr Housing City and Sirta Housing City.

Her Excellency the Minister of Housing confirmed in her participation today in the afforestation event of the Salman City Housing Project in the presence of Her Excellency Ms. Fatima Ibrahim Al-Mannai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, A number of Ministry officials said that the Tree Week Initiative promotes the objectives of Bahrain's afforestation plan, which aims to plant 3.6 million trees by 2035, and to increase the green area in all regions of the Kingdom, thereby promoting the achievement of the desired environmental goals. and affirming the Ministry's desire to continue to afford housing cities and allocate green space in all its projects.

The Minister indicated that the Ministry will continue its progress by planting its housing projects, initiated by the waterfront afforestation initiative in the city of Al-Hadd, followed by the housing town of Sizra, by granting every beneficiary of his housing unit an agricultural sapling, in an effort to encourage agriculture within the housing units.

Minister Al-Rumaihi also commended the active partnership of the private sector and community initiatives through their direct support for afforestation in various governorates of the Kingdom, including Bahrain's housing cities.
