In implementation of the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to allocate an additional budget to fund alternative solutions and options for those with old housing applications for the year 2004 and earlier, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has started the procedures for the delivery of alternative housing services to beneficiary citizens, within a timetable prepared by the Ministry to meet the existing applications according to their seniority, according to a timetable prepared by the Ministry.

In this regard, Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, confirmed that the Ministry started today to allocate a package of residential plots in East Sitra for the beneficiaries of the first option of alternative solutions and options, which includes the allocation of a residential voucher in addition to construction financing through the Tasheel program, which amounts to 40 thousand dinars, while the coming period will also witness the delivery of residential apartments to the beneficiaries of the second option, which includes a financial grant of 3 thousand dinars and a two-year exemption from maintenance fees for common areas at the Beneficiaries' Union.

Al Rumaihi also pointed out that the ministry has started disbursing funds for the third option, which includes providing a maximum of 70,000 dinars in facilitation funding, in addition to allocating a grant of 10,000 dinars.

The minister said that the total number of plots allocated for this option in various governorates will contribute to meeting a package of existing and long-standing housing requests, noting that the allocation of this package of East Sitra plots will be followed by the allocation of plots in other projects in different governorates, as part of the plan to provide beneficiaries with the option of the plot and the amount of construction financing.
She noted that the Ministry will continue to pay the housing allowance to citizens benefiting from the East Sitra City plots exclusively through this program for two years, according to the features of this housing option, and the Ministry also provides the privilege of bearing the fees for issuing building permits from the competent authority, pointing out in this context to the completion of the supply of residential plots in East Sitra City with infrastructure services, which contributes to facilitating and accelerating the pace of completing the construction of housing units by the beneficiaries.

Minister Amna Al Rumaihi said that the timetable for the delivery of alternative housing services to citizens comes after the completion of the phase of surveying the wishes of citizens and identifying their requests for the housing options that were announced, and that the delivery of alternative housing options includes all beneficiaries of those options through a multi-payment timetable.

She also stressed that the start of the delivery of alternative housing options will contribute significantly to reducing the number of existing and older housing requests, in light of the remarkable demand for these options by citizens and their desire to benefit from them, noting that these options, along with the housing finance program and the government land development rights program, contribute to providing thousands of housing services to citizens in various governorates of the Kingdom.
