Engineer Basem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamar, the Minister of Housing, revealed the progress of completion rates for the housing project "Al-Buhair", which is included in the list of projects implemented by the Ministry in the southern governorate, noting the completion rates of completion in the construction works of the units, while the completion rate in infrastructure works reached 40%.
The minister said that the project is currently witnessing an acceleration in the pace of work, with the aim of completing its implementation by December of this year, in order to distribute the units in conjunction with the Kingdom's celebrations of the glorious National Day and His Majesty's King’s Day, according to the criterion of seniority of requests in the region and the surrounding areas.
The first phase of the lake housing project consists of 227 housing units, and its total cost is 9 million and 580 thousand Bahraini dinars, at 8 million and 800 thousand dinars, the cost of building the units, and one million and 780 thousand cost of carrying out the infrastructure works. The project, in addition to the housing units, included many Services and facilities that serve future residents of the project, such as places of worship and shops, and open areas for children's games, in addition to providing special paths for pedestrians and bicycles similar to the projects of the new Bahrain cities.
Eng. Al-Hamr pointed out that the lake housing project is one of the main projects included in the ministry's plan to implement the royal high order to build 40 thousand housing units, and the housing commitment contained in the current government program, regarding work on the implementation of 25 thousand housing units, stressing the ministry’s keenness to complete Implementing the project on time to enable the citizens to live in its units. .
The Minister of Housing pointed out that reaching this advanced stage of the project comes to crown the efforts of the Ministry and all parties that cooperated with the Ministry in order to implement the first stage of it, noting that the Ministry has made double efforts in this project specifically from the stage of re-creating the project land and cleaning it from waste and waste Which extended to the depths of the project land, which has achieved a general benefit for the residents of the area adjacent to it, through paving the soil and then starting construction works in the first phase of the project.
Eng. Al-Hamr appreciated the efforts of His Excellency Deputy Ahmad Al-Ansari and his cooperation with the Ministry in all stages of the implementation of the project. Seniority, also thanked the Supreme Council for the Environment and the ministries and service agencies that cooperated with the Ministry for the successful implementation of this project.
The Minister emphasized that the Ministry will focus during the remainder of the phase on intensifying work to finish the infrastructure works, so that the units are ready for citizens to benefit from.
