The meeting touched on the preparatory steps taken to start the implementation of the first phase of the new city, which includes the implementation of 1055 housing units, where it was noted that despite the current exceptional circumstances due to the virus, progress has been made in terms of preparing the site for the start of construction work, Which is expected, according to preliminary estimates, to start during the last quarter of this year.
The Minister of Housing praised the level of coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and the Chinese company in addition to the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom, which promises the success of that partnership and the completion of the project on the specified dates, in order to implement the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander The First Deputy Prime Minister, may God protect him, during the government meeting 2019 regarding the implementation of more than 3000 housing units in the city of East Sitra.
Eng. Al-Hamr stressed that the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain put the implementation of the city of East Sitra at the top of its priorities, especially as it represents one of the main pillars for the implementation of the supreme order of His Majesty the King of the country, may God protect and protect him, regarding the implementation of 40 thousand housing units, in addition to the housing commitment contained in the government’s program on Work on the implementation of 25 thousand housing units. .
He also showed the Ministry’s keenness to accelerate the pace of work in establishing the project stages, especially the first stage, in order to enable the city to operate and accommodate the citizens benefiting from its units, so that the ministry would have completed the operation of all new Bahrain cities, after operating and housing the first stages of the cities of Salman, Khalifa, east of the border and the Ramley suburb.
For his part, the general manager of the Chinese company, Mr. Wang Lyon, praised the great support that the company enjoys by the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain represented by the Ministry of Housing in addition to the Chinese embassy in the Kingdom, which reflects the great governmental interest in the Kingdom of Bahrain in its development plans and programs. He expressed his aspiration for the success of this partnership, overcoming the current conditions and starting implementing the project phases as soon as possible. .
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Housing had signed contracts to implement the city of East Sitra in cooperation with the Chinese side during the month of last December, according to which more than 3,000 housing units and plots will be implemented, and this was followed by the Ministry of Housing holding coordination meetings in cooperation with ministries and service agencies in the Kingdom to coordinate on providing services The infrastructure and facilities in the city, in a manner that guarantees the progress of these works in parallel with the construction works, and contributes to the speedy completion of the project phases according to the schedule for each of its three phases.
