The Minister of Housing, Chairman of the Housing Bank, Eng. Basem Bin Yaqoub Al-Hamar, stated that the Danat Al-Lawzi project is one of the fruits of cooperation with the private sector to provide projects that meet the requests of citizens listed on the waiting lists in the ministry, praising the efforts of the Housing Bank and the housing real estate company of the bank in providing these projects. Through partnerships with real estate development companies.
Eng. Al-Hamr said that the remarkable increase in the implementation of projects in cooperation with real estate development companies in the Kingdom confirms the success of government endeavors to involve the private sector in the system of providing social housing projects, noting that providing financing solutions to citizens through the Mazaya program in addition to the financing services provided by the ministry contributed to encouraging Private sector companies to construct social housing projects.
The minister added that the Mazaya program has contributed to creating an attractive investment environment for real estate development companies to implement housing projects in the Kingdom that serve citizens applying to benefit from the services of the Ministry of Housing, noting that the statistics of the program indicate that the number of beneficiaries is close to 5000 beneficiaries of this program, which was reflected on Increase in the number of real estate development and contracting companies that submit applications for rehabilitation to the Ministry to join projects approved by the program.
The Minister also indicated that Mazaya’s program users contributed to moving real estate financing in the Kingdom, revealing that the amount of financing that banks and financing banks granted to the program’s beneficiaries amounted to about 450 million dinars, benefiting that the increase in the financing movement led to an increase in demand for private sector projects.
He added that the Ministry, in light of its keenness to develop the Mazaya Program in line with the increase in requests to benefit from it, in coordination with the Housing Bank, the procedural course has been developed to benefit from the Mazaya Program by shortening its time period from 105 days to 15 days only, in order to accelerate the citizens ’access to housing He pointed out that this comes in the framework of implementing the commitment contained in the government's work program on facilitating government transactions and procedures for citizens.
The minister said that the axis of partnership with the private sector supports government efforts in the endeavors to provide housing services to citizens, pointing out that the ministry is in a parallel line making advanced efforts in the implementation of the axis of new Bahraini cities projects, and that these axes represent the ministry’s pillars in implementing government programs and plans related to the housing sector , Appreciating the efforts of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in supporting all housing programs and plans, which contributed to meeting thousands of housing requests within a short period of time.
He also noted that the Housing Bank intends to launch 4 new housing projects in cooperation with the private sector, in support of the Ministry's efforts to provide 25 thousand housing units stipulated in the current government program.
Eng. Al-Hamr has indicated that the Danat Al-Lawzi project is distinguished for its location and views of Lake Al-Lawzi, in addition to its design in line with the latest construction designs, indicating that this project has received great approval by the citizens whose requests are listed on the Ministry's waiting list.
For his part, the Director General of the Housing Bank, Dr. Khaled Abdullah, expressed his happiness for the participation of the private sector in this pioneering project that serves a large category of citizens on waiting lists, noting that "the Danat Al-Lawzi project is considered the first partnership projects with landowners that open a field for the private sector to contribute In housing development, and the availability of adequate housing for citizens, in line with the policies of both the bank and the ministry that were pursued in previous funded projects.
Dr. Khaled extended sincere thanks and gratitude to the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning and the Electricity and Water Authority for their tireless and continuous cooperation in supporting the housing movement.
Eng. Iyad Obaid, General Manager of the Real Estate Housing Company added that this project will serve the citizens who benefit from the housing services provided by the Ministry of Housing. This pioneering project that serves citizens is the first partnership project for the Housing Bank with landowners, in an initiative launched by the Minister of Housing and Chairman of the Bank, His Excellency Eng. The "Danat Al Lawzi" project consists of 303 villas that are intended only for citizens who benefit from the housing services provided by the Ministry of Housing. Which is characterized by its design according to the highest levels of quality and according to the requirements of modern Bahraini families, as the project provides 7 types of villas with different designs, all of which include 4 bedrooms and a room dedicated to the housekeeper in addition to two parking lots.
