Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, emphasized the active role played by Bahraini women in supplying the outputs of the comprehensive development march in the Kingdom s advancement and promotion of women's participation in various sectors, Particularly in the areas of sustainability and innovation, as a result of the continued patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, The directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers.

This came at the participation of His Excellency Minister Amna Al-Rumaihi in the Fifth Scientific Research Forum hosted by Sharjah University, Sister United Arab Emirates Stressing the great role of the Supreme Council for Women under the chairmanship of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women. Through the development and adoption of plans and programmes that have contributed to women's empowerment in the Kingdom.

The Minister said that at the level of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, women accounted for 64% of executive management, noting that the Ministry's women members played key roles in the engineering, housing services, strategic planning, institutional excellence and human and financial resource management sectors.

The Minister highlighted the prominent role of women in the engineering sector, noting the contribution of 78 Bahraini engineers to the management of housing projects in the Kingdom's cities and governorates between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Urban Planning Authority.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning indicated that special categories of Bahraini women are allocated to benefit from housing services provided by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain s rights ", which includes divorced and widowed women, as well as divorced, abandoned or widowed women with no children or single orphans divorced and widowed women with their non-Bahraini minors as well as divorced, widowed and abandoned women without children; More than 5 citizens have benefited from the Ministry's various housing services. housing allowance ", with a privilege for women applying for a housing service, which includes the benefit of the housing allowance from the date of submission of the housing application.

Minister Al-Rumaihi also reviewed national efforts to strengthen the role of women in leadership, noting that the Kingdom registered 68.1% in the Women, Business and Law Index 2024, on measuring progress in women's empowerment in 190 global economies, also reviewing the role of the Labour Fund (Empowerment) in support of women leaders, particularly following the recent launch of the programme "Preparing a Generation of Bahraini Women Leaders in Collaboration with HEC Paris University", which was launched in February to prepare Bahraini women for leadership positions in the private sector, particularly in the areas of sustainability and innovation.

The Minister noted that Bahraini women's empowerment was not limited to the governmental aspect, but extended to private sector institutions, which saw women in leadership positions and key roles in management, citing a number of models in this area.

The Minister concluded by emphasizing that the Kingdom continues to promote women's empowerment through supportive initiatives and policies, stressing that diversity and inclusiveness in leadership positions contribute to promoting innovation and achieving sustainable development.
