Her Excellency Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, participated in the official opening of the 13th World Urban Forum «WUF13», which kicked off in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, in the presence of His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, under the theme "Housing the World: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities," with the participation of more than 28,000 participants from 172 countries, in addition to representatives of many international and local organizations.

On this occasion, Minister Al Rumaihi stressed that participation in this global forum represents an opportunity to highlight the gains and achievements made in light of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him Pointing out that the forum is a strategic platform for exchanging experiences and formulating innovative solutions to address global housing challenges, in line with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and the government's programme.

Minister Al Rumaihi explained that the work of the forum in its current session is of exceptional importance, as it represents the highest international platform for shaping the future of cities, by aligning housing policies with the goals of the New Urban Agenda, stressing that the forum's slogan directly intersects with the priorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain in building sustainable urban communities, capable of responding to global changes.

 As part of the forum's activities, the Kingdom of Bahrain's pavilion was opened, attracting the attention of international delegations. The "Muharraq City Development Project" topped the display window as a model that blends modern urban development with the preservation of heritage identity. 
Al Rumaihi stressed that the pavilion highlights the digitization of services through the "Beity" real estate platform, and reviews the expansion of the "Government Land Development Rights" program, which has become a fundamental pillar for providing social housing in cooperation with real estate developers, noting that this gathering, which includes an elite group of thought leaders and decision-makers, provides an ideal environment for exchanging innovative practices.

In the same context, Mr. Abdullah Taleb, General Manager of the Housing Bank, stressed that the forum and its accompanying events provide valuable opportunities to view the latest financing solutions to provide suitable housing for citizens in the Kingdom, noting that the Housing Bank continues to work on developing innovative financing initiatives and solutions that support the housing system in the Kingdom, with a focus on enhancing digital services and developing easy financing options that keep pace with citizens' aspirations and ensure the sustainability of housing projects in partnership with the private sector.

The pavilion also reviews the efforts of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture in developing green cities in cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
