Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, confirmed that the "Al Wadi" projects in the Al Buhair area and "Houra Sand" are witnessing rapid progress in the completion rates of construction works and the provision of infrastructure services, noting that the two projects are among the main projects implemented by the Ministry in the Southern Governorate within the scope of the government land development rights program projects, in partnership with the private sector.
Minister Al Rumaihi stated that in the "Al Wadi" project, the completion rate of construction work on the project reached 89%, while the completion rate of infrastructure services reached 65%. As for the "Hora Sanad" project, the completion rate rose to 58% in terms of construction work for residential units, while the completion rate in infrastructure services reached 13%.
This came during the field visit made by the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning to the work sites in the "Al-Wadi" and "Houra Sanad" projects, in the presence of a number of officials in the Ministry and the Housing Bank, in addition to officials of the "Al-Saraya" and "Al-Naml" companies implementing the two projects.
During the visit, Minister Al Rumaihi was briefed on the progress of engineering work on the two projects, the timetable for the implementation stages of housing units and infrastructure services, and the extent to which work adhered to the timetable prepared for implementing the two projects. She also followed up on the project plans and the developed building models that were adopted in designing the housing units to suit the needs of the Bahraini beneficiary families.
Her Excellency the Minister explained that the progress of the completion rates of the two projects according to the timetables reflects the growing trust between the Ministry and the real estate development companies participating in the implementation of the government land development rights program projects, pointing to the positive results achieved by the program after the number of projects implemented within it reached seven projects in different regions of the Kingdom, amid a growing demand from real estate companies to participate in the auctions of the projects that are being offered.
Minister Al Rumaihi explained the progress of work on the "Al Wadi" project in Al Buhair region, implemented in cooperation with "Al Saraya" Company, and consisting of 76 housing units, noting that the project has reached the final stages in terms of implementing housing units, with the acceleration of the pace of providing infrastructure services, stressing the joint keenness between the ministry and the implementing company to complete the implementation of the project according to the dates set in the timetable With the aim of accelerating the delivery of units to citizens benefiting from the project who have booked units via the electronic off-map booking feature through the "Betty" real estate platform, during the Innovation Exhibition in the Social Housing Sector held last April.
As for the "Hora Sand" project, which is being implemented in cooperation with the "An-Naml" Group, and provides 47 housing units, the Minister noted the high rates of completion and the acceleration of the pace of work, explaining that the Ministry is working to put the project up for electronic reservation on the map during the next few weeks, and work is also underway to prepare the model housing unit in the project to be available to citizens who are about to benefit from one of the options of the housing financing program This is to visit it and review the design and components of the unit in preparation for booking the units.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning stressed that the projects of the Government Land Development Rights Program represent one of the main outputs of the partnership paths between the public and private sectors, noting that the program contributed to diversifying and expanding the base of housing options for citizens within the housing financing program, which allows greater flexibility in owning housing according to the needs of Bahraini families.
She added that these projects aim to achieve sustainability in the provision of housing services and enhance the quality of life for citizens, by adopting innovative housing policies that support partnership with the private sector and contribute to accelerating the pace of implementation of housing projects and meeting the growing demand for housing, in line with the government's program 2023-2026.
