Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, stressed the depth of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the progress it is witnessing at all levels, praising the experience of the Kingdom of Jordan in the field of providing social housing for citizens, and the progress achieved in the field of urban and urban planning.
 
This came during her visit to the headquarters of the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Khayat, CEO of the Urban Planning and Development Authority, His Excellency Eng. Balsam Ali Al-Salman, Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering Affairs, and a number of officials. The delegation was received by His Excellency Eng. Jumana Atiyat, Director General of the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development.
 
During the visit, the two sides held an expanded working meeting to discuss ways of cooperation in various areas of the social housing sector, develop relations to enhance the outcomes of housing plans, diversify housing options, and accelerate the provision of adequate housing for citizens.
 
During the meeting, the Bahraini delegation also reviewed the Ministry's most prominent initiatives and programs in providing housing services to citizens, in addition to promising investment opportunities in the field of providing housing services in the Kingdom, especially for real estate developers through the government and private land development rights program in partnership with the private sector.
 
The delegation was briefed on a presentation on housing policies in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the role of the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development in providing adequate housing for citizens, the facilities provided to citizens to obtain housing, and the organization and development of the housing sector, in addition to the partnership mechanisms between the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development and the private sector to provide affordable housing This contributes to the faster and more efficient implementation of projects, in addition to the facilities provided to citizens through concessional financing.
During the meeting, the outcomes of the "Griba" housing project and the "Navigation" project, which are being implemented by the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, were reviewed, with the aim of providing affordable housing units that meet the needs of citizens, in addition to reviewing the experience of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of urban and urban planning.
 
For her part, Minister Al-Rumaihi praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Local Administration in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in urban planning by preparing structural and organizational plans, and directing urban growth to achieve balanced development, stressing that international cooperation and partnerships through exchanging experiences and reviewing the experiences of advanced ministries and housing and urban institutions contribute to achieving further progress and development in this field and in building more efficient, balanced and sustainable cities By achieving sustainability and a balance between urban development, environmental conservation and quality of life.
On the other hand, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning made a field visit to a number of projects implemented by the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development in Jordan, where the delegation was briefed on the "Certificate Housing" project in the city of Jerash, which is one of the development projects implemented by the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development in the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the aim of providing residential and commercial plots of land within a planned and served environment In addition to meeting citizens' needs for housing and various services, which benefits the real estate development sector.
The Bahraini delegation also visited the Housing and Military Works Corporation to view the "Shifa Badran" project, which is one of the projects of the General Corporation for Housing and Urban Development in Jordan. Modern construction methods in the field of residential building construction were reviewed, in addition to reviewing the experience of providing a ready-mix concrete factory to provide housing projects with building materials in a sustainable manner. The project aims to provide residential lands for citizens within an organized urban environment In addition to visiting housing projects in Ajloun, which come as part of efforts to provide housing for citizens through easy solutions in cooperation with the private sector.
During the field visit to housing projects and urban planning services, Minister Al-Rumaihi praised the housing initiatives and plans undertaken by the General Organization for Housing and Urban Development in the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressing that the Jordanian experience shares many aspects with the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain by diversifying housing options in partnership with the private sector, which contributes to accelerating the pace of providing housing services to citizens and enhancing cooperation with the private sector.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning stressed that the field visits to housing projects and urban development in the Kingdom of Jordan come within the framework of exchanging experiences between the two sides, and opening broader horizons for joint cooperation in the fields of housing and city planning, especially in light of the rapid developments witnessed by the sector that require adopting best practices and applying innovative solutions to meet the needs of citizens.
Minister Al-Rumaihi expressed her aspirations to strengthen existing partnerships between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of housing and urban development, by exchanging successful experiences and adopting joint initiatives that would contribute to developing infrastructure and providing integrated and sustainable housing environments that keep pace with the aspirations of future generations.
