Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, which was held today, at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Council then followed up on the executive measures taken by ministries and government agencies in implementation of the Royal Order issued by His Majesty the King of the country, may God support him, to preserve the historical and cultural identity of the buildings and cities of Bahrain, revive the Grand Isa Palace and develop Muharraq in a way that preserves its historical and cultural identity, and the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.The Prime Minister, may God protect him, began immediate measures for the Muharraq city development plan In this regard, the Council approved the acquisition of a number of properties in Muharraq as part of the requirements of the development process, based on a memorandum from His Excellency the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture.
The Council then praised the efforts and follow-ups undertaken by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which culminated in the return of the five Bahraini citizens arrested in the sisterly Republic of Yemen.
The Council then congratulated the United Nations on the occasion of United Nations Day, stressing the importance of the principles and values of the United Nations.

The Council then approved the following memorandums:
1. In light of the royal decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the country’s King, may God protect and preserve him, last September pardoning (457) convicts, on the occasion of the silver jubilee of His Majesty assuming the reins of power, Based on the directive of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Labor were assigned to register those included in the royal pardon who meet the conditions and regulations among the beneficiaries of unemployment assistance for job seekers.
2. Memorandum of the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Quality Authority regarding the approval of the Authority’s reports.
3. A memorandum by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Quality Authority on the performance of the education and training sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which showed continued improvement in the performance of educational and training institutions and the level of academic programs.
4. Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to 3 proposals by desire and 3 proposals by law submitted by the House of Representatives.
With regard to ministerial reports, the Council took note of the following:
1. Results of participation in the meeting of the 11th session of the Bahraini-Kuwaiti Joint Higher Committee.
2. Results of participation in the work of the 35th session of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environmental Affairs, and the work of the 1st session of the Ministerial Council of the Green Middle East Initiative.
3. Results of participation in the 89th meeting of the Council of Arab Housing Ministers and its Executive Council.
4. Report of the Minister of Education on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the 2024 International School Games.
5. Results of the official visit of the Minister of Industry and Trade to the United Kingdom.
