The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the Housing Bank participated in the discussion sessions held on the sidelines of the Third Gulf Housing Conference, which is organized by the State of Kuwait within the activities of the Third Gulf Housing Week, where representatives of the Ministry and the Housing Bank reviewed the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in developing housing services, and ways to benefit from smart applications in Housing projects and housing real estate development.
In the discussion session entitled "Housing Challenges “," Mr. Haitham Mohammed Kamal, Director of the Communications Department at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, reviewed the Ministry’s efforts in providing housing services to citizens in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Ministry’s work processes by continuing to diversify housing options for citizens to accommodate the increase in social housing requests.In order to achieve the principle of sustainability in providing housing services to citizens, pointing out that the government has established the principle of expanding partnership with the private sector Promoting innovative programs and initiatives is at the top of the government’s program priorities, with the aim of making the maximum possible use of government and private sector resources to provide social housing services to citizens.
He explained that the partnership with the private sector has achieved its feasibility through the housing initiatives implemented in recent years, starting with the launch of housing financing programs and joint real estate development projects, all the way to the new housing initiatives that were launched in conjunction with the opening of the Innovation Conference and Exhibition in the Social Housing Sector last month, which It witnessed a prominent Gulf and international presence.
Mr. Ahmed Kamel Al Sharaf, Director of the Developer Affairs Relations Department, reviewed the methods and mechanisms for housing real estate development in the social housing sector, noting that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning launched 4 new housing programs during the Innovation Conference in the Social Housing Sector, which was held last April, and these programs aim to Increasing the pace of implementation of housing projects in partnership with the private sector, and contributing to diversifying and increasing the real estate stock in the Kingdom.
He explained that the new programs that were announced include the “Ambition” program, the “Off-Plan Sale” program for beneficiaries of the "Government Land Development Rights" program projects, and the “Private Land Development Rights” program, in addition to the launch of the second version of the “My Home” real estate platform with additional features.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning seeks to expand the stock of social housing projects, and to achieve this goal it launched the "Private Land Development Rights" program.This program aims to support real estate companies in the Kingdom to increase real estate projects at prices commensurate with the value of housing financing obtained by citizens.
The Director of the Developer Affairs Relations Department pointed out that the Ministry has adopted a number of programs that encourage the private sector and citizens to turn to new and innovative projects, including the "Amouh" program, which focuses on giving citizens who benefit from "Tasheel" and "Tasheel+" to buy a residential apartment, and obtain Obtaining a financing amount after ten years if they wish to sell the apartment and obtain another property that suits their future needs.
For his part, Mr. Khaled Al Khaja, Senior Director of Marketing and Sales at the Housing Bank, confirmed in a panel discussion entitled "Smart Applications in Housing Projects" that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to adopt innovative solutions to promote social housing projects.
He explained that the experience of the "Bayti" platform has proven its success by measuring the number of users of the "Bayti" real estate platform (more than 30 thousand users), whether by citizens or developers, as well as banks and commercial banks, as the platform is a distinctive initiative for the process of providing housing services in an effective and innovative way.Which is consistent with the digital transformation trends of government services.
He pointed out the most important development towards which we are currently moving, the implementation of the smart tracking system, as housing demand proceeds within stages through which the citizen as well as the real estate developer can follow the stages of ownership procedures for social housing projects digitally.
