Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, made a field visit to a number of housing projects implemented by the Ministry with real estate development companies, and included within the "Government Land Development Rights" program, which included the "Al Naseem Neighborhood" project in the city of Salman in the Northern Governorate, and the "Al Wadi" projects.In the Al-Buhair region, and the "Houra Sanad" project in the Southern Governorate, in the presence of a number of officials from the Ministry and the Housing Bank.
During the visit, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning was briefed on the progress of work on housing projects and the completion rates achieved, stressing the importance of adhering to the timetables set for each project, and accelerating the pace of implementation, in line with the executive plan under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great King of the country, may God protect him.He took care of accelerating the pace of housing projects to provide 50,000 new housing units Noting that the projects of the Government Land Development Rights Program are an essential pillar in implementing the directives of His Majesty the King, especially since the program’s projects were able, within a short period, to achieve its goals by providing immediate housing services to the beneficiaries of the housing financing program options.
Minister Amna Al Rumaihi explained that since its launch, the program has received wide acceptance by real estate developers, who have shown an increasing interest in participating in its various projects, which reflects the major role played by the private sector in providing social housing services to citizens, whether through providing housing financing to citizens, or By providing housing projects at prices commensurate with the value of the financing amounts provided by the Ministry through the financing options "Tasheel", "Tasheel+", "Mazaya", and "Advantages of the new category".
The Minister reviewed the positive outcomes achieved by the government land development rights program during the last period, which were represented by the remarkable demand from citizens to benefit from the program’s project units, as the "Al-Naseem Neighborhood" project in Salman City witnessed the exhaustion of all proposed housing units within only four days of opening the door.Reservation on the map, as witnessed by the "Al-Wadi" project In the Al-Buhair area, housing units ran out within a few minutes of opening reservations during the exhibition accompanying the Innovation Conference in the Social Housing Sector, which was organized by the Ministry and the Housing Bank during the period from 23 to 25 last April, which is the same demand witnessed by the "Suhail" project in the Lozi suburb, which was built.All its units were provided by beneficiaries of the housing financing program earlier.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning pointed out that these indicators clearly reflect the desire of citizens to obtain immediate and appropriate housing solutions, whether through the projects of the "Government Land Development Rights" program or through the options of the Housing Finance Program, which allowed the beneficiaries greater freedom to choose appropriate housing according to their needs and capabilities.
Regarding the current completion rates in the projects that were inspected during the field visit, Minister Amna Al-Rumaihi stated that the completion rate in the "Al-Naseem Neighborhood" project in Salman City reached an advanced stage of 61%, while the completion rate in the "Al-Wadi" project in the Al-Buhair area reached 31%.%, and the completion rate in the "Houra Sanad" project reached 10%.
The Minister indicated that these projects are witnessing the progress of work on the construction work of the units and infrastructure work at the same time, with the aim of completing the implementation of the projects according to the specified timetable, and thus accelerating the delivery of the units to the beneficiaries, pointing out also that these projects have been planned to include the provision of basic services and facilities that serve Its residents, by providing places of worship, shops and other basic facilities.
In a related context, Minister Al Rumaihi announced that the next phase will witness an expansion in the implementation of more program projects, as she indicated that the Ministry has launched bids for the implementation of 3 new projects within the framework of the government land development rights program in Salman City, bringing the number of projects that have entered the implementation stages to 7 housing projects.While the Ministry is currently launching new packages of program projects.
The Minister added that at the forefront of these projects is the provision of more than 3,000 residential units and apartments in Khalifa City, a project for which 4 memorandums of understanding were signed with a number of major real estate companies during the opening of the Innovation Conference and Exhibition in the Social Housing Sector that was held recently, in addition to preparations to launch Projects in the Isa Town and Umm Al Hassam area, within the framework of the Ministry’s strategy to increase housing supply and provide modern and sustainable urban environments.
She also indicated that the next phase will also witness the activation of the "Private Land Development Rights" program, which aims to implement housing projects on private lands owned by real estate development companies, with the government providing facilities and technical support to those companies to implement these projects and allocate them to beneficiaries of the housing financing program.This is part of the Ministry’s vision to increase housing projects and expand the range of options for citizens benefiting from the housing financing program.
