Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, received Mr. Wang Bo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese company CMEC, on the sidelines of the Innovation Conference and Exhibition in the Social Housing Sector 2025, in the presence of a number of senior officials from both sides.
During the meeting, a review was exchanged of ways to strengthen the partnership between the two sides during the next stage, especially after signing a memorandum of understanding to provide housing projects under the umbrella of the government land development rights program, and a project to provide more than 3,000 residential units and apartments in Khalifa City.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning said that the government land development rights program represents one of the paths that the ministry is working on in partnership with the sector to provide adequate housing for citizens, noting that the program provides promising opportunities to enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors in providing housing services to citizens and improving the quality of housing services.
There was also a discussion about the course of action of the current partnership projects, through the Chinese company’s implementation of the phases of Sitra Housing City, in addition to a review of the latest developments in the results of the recent visit made by the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the People’s Republic of China.
For his part, Mr. Wang Bo praised the outcomes of the Innovation Conference and Exhibition in the Social Housing Sector, which provides promising opportunities for partnership with the government sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the work paths and programs proposed by the Ministry to provide adequate housing for citizens.
