The Equal Opportunities Commission of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning held its first periodic meeting this year, chaired by Ms. Dunya Faisal Sarhan, Assistant Under-Secretary for Resources and Information of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
During the meeting, the Committee stressed the continuing efforts to implement the directives of the Supreme Council aimed at achieving gender balance in all proposed initiatives and the Ministry's programmes, by reviewing the Committee's 2024 achievements report, which had an impact on achieving the goals of gender parity and equal opportunities at the internal level of the Ministry and housing policies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting, the proposed programmes of the Community Partnership for Women's Affairs for 2025 were reviewed with a view to their inclusion in the Commission's future plans.
The Committee also discussed the proposal for training programmes aimed at developing the competencies of the Ministry to enhance women's role in leadership positions and support gender balance efforts at all levels within the Ministry.
