The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has concluded agreements for the implementation of 123 housing units in each of the areas of Al-Bahir and Houra Sanad in the Southern Governorate, in partnership with the companies Al-Saraya and Ant, within the framework of projects under the Government Land Development Rights Programme in partnership with the private sector.

The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Mr. Saud Abdulaziz Kano, Chairman and CEO of Al Saraya, implementing the housing project in Al-Bahir, and Mr. Lagi George, General Manager of Ant.

On the margins of signing the agreements, Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, confirmed that signing agreements to implement the two projects "Al-Baheer and Hurah Sanad" follows the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers, on the expansion of the Government Land Development Rights Programme, noting that these projects are the first to be implemented in the southern governorate, as part of the plan to extend the implementation of the projects in the various governorates of BahRrain.

Minister Al-Rumaihi also noted that with the signing of the agreements for the implementation of the Al-Baheer and Hura Sanad projects, the result of the projects launched by the Ministry since the launch of the programme is 4 after the launch of the project "Suhail" housing in the suburb of Luzi, which includes 132 units, which has been completed, in addition to the project of implementing 131 housing units in Salman City, which is witnessing progress in the field of construction works, noting that the Ministry is preparing to launch more project packages under the program during the next phase.
On the details of the agreements for the implementation of the housing project in Al-Baheer, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning reported that this project will be implemented by Al-Saraya on an area of 20 thousand square meters. The project provides 76 housing units, while the housing project "Hurwa Sanad" will be implemented on an area of 10 thousand square meters, to include 47 housing units.

Minister Al-Rumaihi commended the level of cooperation with companies "Al-Saraya and Ant" From the stages of establishing project bidding, through the procedural stages prior to the conclusion of execution contracts, noting the considerable experience of both companies in implementing housing projects in the Kingdom, and the levels of engineering and technical personnel therein, noting the high demand by real estate developers to apply for the projects of the Government Land Development Rights Program, which reflects the degree of confidence in the program and its outputs.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning added that the progress achieved by the Government Land Development Rights Project and the launch of 4 housing projects to provide housing units at prices commensurate with the value of the Ministry's housing finance programme for citizens reflect the progress made in strengthening the partnership with the private sector to provide housing services to citizens and underscores the success of Government visions in this regard.
For his part, Mr. Saud Abdul Aziz Kanu, Chairman and CEO of the company Al-Saraya said that he was pleased to sign the agreement for the implementation of the housing project in the Al-Baheer area, noting that this cooperation with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning reflects the level of partnership and cooperation between the government and private sectors for the implementation of development projects in the Kingdom, commending the outputs of the Government Land Development Rights Program, which provides an opportunity for real estate developers to participate in social housing projects in the Kingdom.
In a related context, Mr. Lagy George, General Manager of Ant Companies, stressed that the implementation of the housing project in Hura Sanad is a continuation of the company's successful experience with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, namely the Suhail housing project in the Luzi suburb, which was inaugurated last year and its units were rolled out to the beneficiaries of the housing finance programme, expressing his aspirations to repeat the success of the second experience represented in the Hind project.
