Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, confirmed that the contents of the sublime speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, at the opening of the second session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura and Representatives Councils, reflect the wise visions of His Majesty. Regarding the adoption of national policies and action plans that benefit the nation and the citizen, and represent the basic pillars of the comprehensive development process witnessed by the Kingdom under the leadership of His Majesty.
Mrs. Amna Al-Rumaihi extended the highest expressions of thanks and gratitude to His Majesty the King, may God protect and preserve him, for His Majesty’s kind guidance in developing an action plan concerned with preserving the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain’s buildings and cities, stressing that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning will work during the next stage to harness its energies to implement the directives of His Royal Highness. Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to activate the plan to preserve the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain’s buildings and cities and launch the plan to develop the city of Muharraq.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning said that this directive reflects the wise leadership’s keenness to preserve the cultural and historical character that has always distinguished the Kingdom of Bahrain historically, noting that the Ministry immediately began forming a specialized work team to implement the directive and coordinate with the relevant authorities with the aim of ensuring speedy and efficiency of implementation.
The Minister confirmed that the Ministry will give the joint action plan to implement the Royal Decree a high priority during the next phase, with the aim of achieving the royal aspirations and implementing government directives in this regard in a way that contributes to the revival of the neighborhoods known as the city of Muharraq, with the aspiration for the return of its people to it, in honor of the national glory witnessed throughout the rich history of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
