A delegation from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD)has visited a number of ADFD-financed projects in Salman Town, as part of the Gulf Development Programme, including apartment buildings and infrastructure schemes.
Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi commended the UAE support to projects spearheading sustainable development, which reflects deep-rooted fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
The minister expressed thanks and gratitude to ADFD officials for their keenness on following up on ADFD-financed development projects.
Undersecretary Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa, shed light on one of the key projects financed by the fund, featuring 16 residential towers made of 1382 apartments, covering 3600 square metres per floor.
The residential towers are currently being built according to the sixth generation designs, said the ministry, noting that the project, which is expected to be complete by 2023, includes all commercial services, parking lots, green spaces, parks, gardens, pedestrian paths and cycling lanes.
The delegation made an inspection visit to construction sites in the city, as well as the infrastructure and secondary sites that were completed under the supervision and follow-up of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development finances 23 housing projects in a number of cities in Bahrain, including infrastructure and secondary works, costing overall 361 million dinars.
