His Excellency said: "The projects of Bahrain's housing cities are among the most important pillars of the leading Bahraini experience in the field of social housing, which reflects the government's interest and keenness to provide adequate housing for citizens, in addition to providing all elements of a quality of life for the residents and visitors of these cities through the facilities and services that include it".
His Excellency indicated upon his visit to the city of Salman that the city represents a realistic model for the government's vision in planning housing cities, and providing all the ingredients that ensure the achievement of the principles of quality housing and quality of life for citizens.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, accompanied by His Excellency Engineer Basem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, Minister of Housing, visited this morning (Sunday - May 29, 2022) the city of Salman, to learn about the latest developments in the implementation of housing and service projects in the city. The visit was also attended by Engineer Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, and a number of officials from relevant ministries and government agencies.
During the visit, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah noted the rich diversity of Salman City in terms of designs for building units and apartments, and designing neighborhoods in a way that suits the nature of the city consisting of a group of islands, as well as providing waterfronts, public beaches, and paths for walking and bicycles. aerials, in addition to a well-developed road network.
His Excellency added: "What distinguishes the city is the attention to the environmental aspect by ensuring the forestation of the main and secondary roads, and the provision of green spaces that reflect the civilized aspect of the city, all of which are components in line with the sustainable development goals 2030, especially the eleventh goal that deals with cities."
After that, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa visited the Visitor Center in Salman City, which serves the city's residents, and includes an exhibition documenting all stages of construction and implementation of the city's projects. His Excellency also inspected the projects under construction in the city, and was briefed on the developments of the project of building 303 housing units, implementing 1,382 apartments in the site designated for residential buildings, and inspecting the residential models for each project. This was followed by a review of the city's facilities, including the public park and the waterfront.
For his part, H.E. Eng. The Minister also valued the role of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in achieving this housing achievement, through His Excellency’s presidency of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects, which had a prominent role in coordinating between all relevant government agencies to implement the High Direction, pointing out that the support of His Excellency contributed to overcoming many challenges.
Engineer Al-Hamar confirmed that the implementation of projects in all cities is in line with the government's current program implementation plan, stressing the ministry's continued implementation of existing and future projects in Salman City and other Bahrain housing cities in a manner consistent with the plans prepared for this purpose.
