Within the framework of the visit of His Excellency Mr. Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Murshid, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, and his accompanying delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the delegation visited a number of projects funded by the Fund within the Gulf Development Program, including the Al-Fateh Street Development Project, which is one of the major strategic projects in Infrastructure sector, in addition to a visit to the project to develop the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Street with Sheikh Isa bin Salman Street (Saar Intersection), and a visit to the Ramli housing project, and the Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa Dialysis Center in Riffa.
On this occasion, His Excellency Eng. Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, praised the support provided by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to projects that advance development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that this support indicates the depth of the strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries in various fields. His Excellency expressed his appreciation for the efforts of those in charge of the Saudi Fund for Development and their interest in following up on the completion of development projects funded by the Fund.
During the visit, the Minister reviewed with the delegation one of the most prominent projects implemented with funding from the Fund, which is the project of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa Kidney Disease Center in Riffa, including the cost of construction, equipment and medical equipment.
The Minister said that the project was designed and supervised by the Public Works Affairs for the Ministry of Health, as it was built on a total area of 21.5 square meters, while the construction area was 8.9 square meters, and the main building consists of two floors, with a capacity of about 60 beds.
For his part, H.E. Eng. Basem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamar, Minister of Housing, expressed his happiness at the visit of the delegation of the Saudi Fund for Development, praising the distinguished cooperation relationship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He pointed out that the Saudi Fund for Development contributed to the implementation of the first phase of the Khalifa City projects, which number 1,560 housing units, including infrastructure works, as well as the implementation of 1,261 housing units in the Al-Ramli suburb project.
