The Ministry of Housing stated that the number of citizens benefiting from the "Mazaya" program since the beginning of this year has reached 120, bringing the total number of beneficiaries of the program since its launch to 9900, since its launch until mid-February.
The Ministry of Housing stated that last year "2021" recorded a significant increase in the number of beneficiaries of the Mazaya program, reaching 3,271, which is the largest number of requests that were met in this program since its launch in 2013, as the number of requests that were met throughout the year 2020. More than 1,691 applications, which reflects the increasing demand for benefiting from the program, in light of the financial facilities it provides, and the diversification of the supply of housing projects provided by real estate development companies.
The ministry also indicated that the program's database indicates that the largest proportion of housing requests that were met last year belong to citizens whose requests were on the waiting lists between 2009 and 2013 with 1,040 housing requests, followed by housing requests for the years between 2004 and 2008, with a total of 455 She explained that the program witnessed a turnout by citizens wishing to transfer their requests from other services such as housing units on waiting lists to advantages, because they wanted to benefit from the immediate service it provides.
The ministry added that the rate of competitiveness of housing units provided by the private sector at prices suitable for the Mazaya Program has witnessed a significant increase and remarkable activity during the past years, useful in this context that out of the total 9900 citizens who have benefited since the launch of the program, 2167 citizens have benefited from housing units provided by the Ministry Housing and the Housing Bank are among projects qualified by the bank and real estate development companies, while 7,735 citizens benefited from projects provided by the open real estate market at a rate of 78%, whose specifications and units fit the technical standards approved by the Ministry.
She added that the rate of purchase of apartments has increased from the previous to 26% compared to 74% for residential units, and that the largest purchase rates were concentrated in the Northern Governorate by 56%, followed by Muharraq Governorate by 36%, and in addition to 6% in the Capital Governorate, while 3% preferred to own property in the Southern Governorate.
On the other hand, the ministry reported that the total amounts of government support provided by the ministry to the beneficiaries of the Mazaya program rose to 87.2 million dinars until mid-February 2022, noting in this regard the high competitiveness of banks and commercial banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain to finance the "Mazaya" program, through the progress of Exclusive offers for those wishing to purchase residential units or apartments.
The Ministry of Housing indicated that the percentage of purchase of housing units compared to apartments in the northern governorate is 96%, compared to 4% for ownership apartments in the same governorate. Muharraq governorate accounted for 97% of villas compared to 3% for apartments, while the percentage of home purchases in the capital governorate was 100%. And the Southern Governorate 33% for villas compared to 67% for apartments.
These efforts are in line with the objectives of the current government program, which is related to providing innovative and immediate solutions to citizens by strengthening partnership with the private sector.
