Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing, stressed the importance of coordinating joint strategic visions and plans in the field of Gulf housing work and unifying Gulf efforts in order to confront the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, and work to achieve sustainability in housing projects and programs in the long term.

This came during the housing undersecretary presiding over the meeting of the agents concerned with housing affairs in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held via visual communication technology today, Wednesday, where a number of common housing issues on the agenda were discussed, in preparation for submitting the discussed topics and proposals to a meeting. Your Excellencies the Ministers concerned with housing affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, which will be held on the 22nd of this month.
At the beginning of the meeting, the agents discussed the joint housing work strategy, housing information bases, the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, the efforts of the ministries of housing and their future plans to confront the pandemic in the GCC countries, and a number of related topics.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary stressed that the Ministry of Housing in the Kingdom of Bahrain contributed greatly to overcoming the impact of the pandemic, by activating electronic technology in communicating and completing transactions, expanding towards completing transactions through electronic services provided by the ministry, facilitating citizens and developers in all its services, and opening New channels of communication, the latest of which was an electronic application available via smart phones.
The meeting also touched on coordination to prepare for regional and international meetings, highlight the Gulf housing work, and develop a joint action plan to activate the General Secretariat's proposal regarding the establishment of the Gulf housing week, and the preparatory meeting discussed the proposed timetable for the next meeting.
It is worth noting that the Kingdom of Bahrain will chair the 19th session of the GCC Housing Ministers' Meeting, which will be held next week via video communication technology, with the participation of Their Excellencies the ministers concerned with housing affairs from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
