Engineer Basem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamar, Minister of Housing, stated that the Al-Lawzi housing project, which is included in the land rights development program recently launched by the ministry, is witnessing advanced completion rates that have exceeded the set schedule, within the framework of cooperation with the project developer, Al-Naml Contracting and Trading Company.

On the sidelines of his visit to the project, the Minister of Housing, accompanied by Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing, Dr. Khaled Al Haidan, Assistant Undersecretary for Housing Policies and Services, and Eng. Reda Al-Adraj, Assistant Undersecretary for Housing Projects, and a number of officials said today, Tuesday, July 6, that the project includes the implementation of 132 housing units. In addition to secondary infrastructure works, the project represents the pilot version of the land rights development program, which comes within the package of partnership initiatives with the private sector launched by the ministry during the recent period, with the aim of providing innovative housing options and solutions that ensure the rapid provision of housing units to citizens.

The Minister indicated that the design of the housing units in the project is derived from the latest construction models approved by the Ministry of Housing, where each housing unit consists of 4 bedrooms, a Majlis, a living and dining hall, a kitchen and toilets, in addition to two parking spaces.

Minister Al-Hamar indicated that this project targets citizens wishing to benefit from the Mazaya program in addition to the housing finances offered by the ministry, as the ministry seeks, through this program, to increase the supply of housing units options to citizens at reasonable prices.

In a related context, Eng. Basem Al-Hamar confirmed that the Land Rights Development Program represents a new qualitative leap in terms of cooperation between the government and private sectors to provide social housing projects, especially as it aligns with the vision of diversifying options for citizens, pointing to the ministry's continuous keenness to search for innovative solutions. Which contribute to increasing the supply of housing services and products, an approach that the esteemed government is taking, and implemented by the Ministry in recent years.

The Minister noted that the idea of ​​partnership with the private sector has been able in recent years to achieve positive results, such as the "Mazaya" program, which was able to meet more than 8000 housing services, which reflects the citizens' appetite for the immediate options offered by the ministry.

Al-Hamar stated that the ministry aims, through this program, if its trial version is successful, to build 15,000 housing units on government lands, which will provide a large number of housing units at competitive prices.
The minister added that the appropriate climate provided by the esteemed government to real estate development companies contributed greatly to the success of initiatives to involve the private sector in providing housing projects that meet the housing needs of citizens, noting that the tender for the development of the Lozi project was submitted to it by dozens of real estate development and contracting companies, and they were rehabilitated. That there is a willingness and demand for future projects that the ministry will put forward within the initiative to develop government lands.

For his part, Dr. Corian Varghese, Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Al-Naml" Contracting and Trading Company, expressed his happiness with the construction of the Lozi project units, praising the land rights development program, which provides the private sector with the opportunity to invest in the provision of social housing projects in the Kingdom, stressing that this program is characterized by great economic feasibility. Contribute to achieving mutual benefit between the public and private sectors.

Varghese confirmed that the company is committed to providing housing units of high quality that match the technical requirements of the Ministry of Housing, looking forward that this project will be a prelude to further cooperation with the Ministry of Housing in the future to implement social housing projects in the Kingdom.
