The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, participated in the meeting of the agents concerned with housing affairs in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held by visual communication technology this morning, Sunday, where a number of common housing issues listed on the agenda were discussed, in preparation for submitting decisions to A meeting of their Excellencies the Ministers concerned with housing affairs in the GCC countries.

The agents discussed the topics on the council’s agenda, foremost of which are the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, housing efforts and its future plans to confront them in the GCC countries, and it was agreed on the report prepared by the Council’s General Secretariat in this regard.

The efforts of the member states and the measures that have been taken regarding the implementation of the initiatives and projects included in the joint housing work strategy were reviewed, and the memorandum of the General Secretariat on the housing information bases was addressed, as it was emphasized that the member states provide data related to housing so that they are numerical statistical data. To be provided to the Statistical Center of the Cooperation Council States on a regular basis.

The council also discussed the owners union file, where the steps that the council had achieved during previous sessions were reviewed, and recommended that the council assign the general secretariat to follow up the activation of the unified general system for real estate owners by member states.

The Council discussed the memorandum of the General Secretariat related to the subject of housing finance, and recommended that member states provide the General Secretariat with their distinguished experiences to involve the private sector in housing finance, provided that a booklet should be prepared that collects the experiences of the GCC countries in providing housing financing solutions.
