The Ministry of Housing commented on the article published in Al-Bilad newspaper on August 23 under the title “Haniniya Housing is a Dangerous Zone,” as it indicated that the published article contained inaccurate information and an exaggeration in describing the facts, which may lead to spreading fear among the beneficiaries of the housing project without support For that information.
The Ministry stated that the Housing Property Management Department undertakes all observations related to the maintenance of the units, as His Excellency Eng. Basem bin Yaqoub Al-Hamar, Minister of Housing, had previously assigned an engineering team headed by the Director of the Construction and Maintenance Department of Housing Projects to follow up the maintenance procedures of the Haniniya project units, and to listen to the opinions and comments of the beneficiaries. And preparing periodic reports on the measures taken by the Ministry to maintain this project.
She indicated that the technical team recently visited the housing site to find out what was stated in the press article of information, and it was found that what was referred to regarding “deep and extended cracks along the walls and floors is incorrect and that it is a prominent feature of the Haniniya housing houses,” useful for the emergence of some minor cracks. Some units, which is a natural thing and may happen in any real estate, and this is the result of various factors, and therefore the Ministry requires contractors to provide guarantees that range from one to twenty-five years, which the Ministry essentially undertakes to provide to the beneficiaries, and the Ministry provides routine maintenance services as required. Diagnose any condition according to the causes of these cracks.
The Ministry stated that a number of observations had already been received from some of the project beneficiaries regarding monitoring some of the usual cracks that do not pose any danger and do not threaten the safety of buildings, adding that the method of construction in these units does not contain concrete columns, and that the Ministry is very keen on Providing the best services and following up on projects after the homes are delivered, as it has undertaken a number of observations received in this regard, and is still working on completing the maintenance of the rest of the units on which notes were received until they are all completed, noting that its regular maintenance program during the last period included a number Of the units in Al-Haniniyeh housing, observations were limited and within the usual procedures, like the rest of the housing areas.
The ministry said that the press article included publishing old photos of cracks in a housing unit that were maintained by the Ministry of Housing, in addition to other photos of maintenance work that was carried out by specialized contractors, which contradict what the article mentioned about the Ministry’s reluctance to maintain housing units.
"Housing" also indicated that the field visit did not detect any new cracks in the housing units after the treatment operations, in contrast to what was mentioned in the press article, in the presence and testimony of the beneficiaries themselves.
It should be noted that the municipal member had previously contacted the technical team of the Ministry of Housing, which carries out maintenance work in the region, and that out of cooperation and transparency, all the questions he raised have been answered.
