About Urban Planning and Development Authority

The Urban Planning and Development Authority was established under the royal decree No. (47) of 2017 issued by His Royal Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, in August 2017. Prior to its establishment, urban planning in the Kingdom of Bahrain has undergone a series of progressive developments, depending on the nature of the stage that the state has experienced since the early 1950s.

Vision  

Achieving sustainable urban development for the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Mission

Comprehensive land planning in line with the National Planning Development Strategy (NPDS 2030).

Future Objectives

  • Directing urban development in an orderly and harmonious manner.
  • Building the urban future to support growth in various sectors.
  • Establishment of integrated and sustainable urban communities.
  • Promoting local urban heritage and urban culture.

The services provided by the Virtual Customer Service Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MOHUP) allow citizens to complete all their housing transactions, without the need to visit MOHUP’s main Customer Service Center at the ministry’s main building in the Diplomatic Area. In case the citizen requires support while benefiting from our services, we are always available to support them virtually and respond to their inquiries through our various channels, so welcome everyone.
