In implementation of the royal order of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, to preserve the historical and cultural identity of the buildings and cities of Bahrain, revive the Grand Isa Palace, and develop the city of Muharraq in a way that preserves its historical and cultural identity, In implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to activate the executive plan for preserving the historical and cultural identity of Bahrain's buildings and cities and launching the Muharraq City Development Plan, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Muharraq Governorate held a joint meeting in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Saleh bin Hindi Al Mannai, Advisor to His Majesty the King for Youth and Sports Affairs, and Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Mr. Salman bin Saleh bin Hindi Al-Mannai, Governor of Muharraq Governorate, and a number of officials and dignitaries, at the Saleh bin Hindi Council in Muharraq Governorate, with the aim of reviewing the progress of work and identifying the latest developments in the implementation of the Muharraq City Development Project.
During the meeting, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning reviewed the latest developments in construction work, which is witnessing a noticeable acceleration in construction and equipment work as part of the outcomes of the first phase of the project, stressing that the Muharraq city development project is at the forefront of the government's priorities in an effort to accelerate the implementation of the development plan in implementation of the Royal Order.
Minister Al-Rumaihi explained that the government agencies contributing to the project are working in a team spirit, within a high level of coordination and integration to ensure adherence to the specified timetable, praising the great level of cooperation provided by the Governor of Muharraq Governorate, which contributed to supporting various work paths.
She explained that the project is proceeding according to the specified timetable, as the various parties participating in the project are working to implement the tasks assigned to them, noting that the project, upon completion, will contribute to achieving a qualitative shift in the urban landscape of the city of Muharraq, and will enhance its national and historical position, embracing the present and being proud of its ancient past, as the designs and plans took into consideration the importance of preserving the unique historical and architectural character that distinguishes Muharraq.
For his part, Mr. Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai, Governor of Muharraq Governorate, praised the great efforts made by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and all relevant authorities in implementing the royal directives to develop the city of Muharraq, which reflects the wise vision of His Majesty the King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, in developing the governorate and enhancing its historical and cultural status Stressing that the rapid pace of work and qualitative projects that Muharraq is witnessing today reflect the spirit of one team and high coordination between various government agencies, which contributed to highlighting the distinctive urban character that combines authenticity and civilization.
