Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning launches application service for housing unit for persons with disabilities for applications nominated electronically

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning announced the launch of the application service for a housing unit for persons with disabilities for applications nominated electronically through the remote customer service center platform available on the ministry's website www.housing.gov.bh.

According to the Ministry, this service provides citizens who are the beneficiaries of the nomination certificate for residential units and apartments services with the possibility of applying for a equipped unit in the event of a disability for a family member, noting that this service is part of the Ministry's concern to provide the necessary time for the rehabilitation of the housing unit according to the type of disability, and thus the speed of the family's access to it at the project delivery stage.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning explained that the electronic service was designed according to simplified steps, namely filling out the electronic form for the service and attaching the medical report. The Ministry must initiate the procedure after accepting the application in accordance with the provisions and requirements governing the service, most notably that the candidate submits a statement of disability to the applicant or a key family member included in the family head's application.

The Ministry noted that the launch of this service is part of the ongoing efforts to implement the digital transformation plan for all services and transactions provided by the Ministry to citizens. in line with the Government Programme 2023-2026's goal of supporting efforts to progressively digitize Government services and transactions and to make them inclusive in addition to responding to citizens' proposals received by the Ministry through its various channels for the development of services provided to citizens.
