Coinciding with the celebration of thesilver jubilee of the twenty-fifth anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad binIsa Al Khalifa, King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, thereins of government, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning continued tohand over the keys to the housing units to the beneficiaries of the units ofthe first phase in the city of East Sitra. Announcing the start of the plan tohand over the units during the visit of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid binAbdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, to the city yesterday, Sunday,which will continue until the end of next May.
The procedure for handing over housingunits to citizens benefiting from East Sitra City units comes after citizenscomplete the electronic withdrawal procedures for the units and document legalcontracts, as the Ministry has scheduled the names of the beneficiariesaccording to intensive daily schedules, with the aim of quickly handing overcitizens their units, in preparation for moving into them.
The Ministry indicated that as part ofthe efforts to provide support to the recent beneficiaries of housing units,whether in the city of East Sitra, the city of Salman, or the city of EastHidd, which are projects that were included in the distribution plan recentlycompleted by the Ministry, the Ministry has strengthened the “Support”initiative. Which provides beneficiaries with exclusive offers from a number offurniture and electronics companies and showrooms, and companies specialized inthe field of interior design, with the aim of providing discounts thatcontribute to quickly furnishing the residential unit and preparing it inpreparation for living in it.
The Ministry added that the “Support”initiative represents one of the axes of strengthening the partnership betweenthe government and private sectors from the social aspect to provide housingsupport for citizens, by providing offers and discounts that contribute toreducing the cost of moving to live in the new housing unit, noting the successof this initiative in achieving its goals within Previous projects weredelivered to beneficiaries, and discount offers have been strengthened andintensified with a large number of companies recently to serve recentbeneficiaries of housing services.
On the other hand, the Ministry saidthat, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture,coordination was made regarding the delivery of agricultural seedlings to eachbeneficiary of a housing unit, with the aim of encouraging the culture ofafforestation in residential units, in line with the policy of interest inafforestation on main and secondary roads, and providing green spaces in thecity. She stated that this also comes within efforts to implement the Kingdom’scommitments to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.
The beneficiaries of the housing unitsexpressed their thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership and the esteemedgovernment for providing them with housing services in the city of East Sitra,which would provide them with a stable means of living for themselves and theirfamilies.
