On this occasion, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed that the gains and achievements witnessed by the housing process over the past twenty-five years were achieved thanks to the lofty royal visions based on providing the elements of adequate housing and decent living for the Bahraini family, which was translated through the construction of cities. New modern housing with integrated facilities and services, as well as developing financing services and strengthening partnership programs between the public and private sectors.
  
His Excellency pointed out that the housing sector has been able, during the silver jubilee era of His Majesty, may God support him, to assume the reins of power, to achieve many achievements that represent a success story in meeting the housing requirements of citizens with high quality and efficiency, foremost among which is the implementation of His Majesty’s directive, may God protect him and protect him, to provide 40,000 units. Residential buildings in various governorates of the Kingdom, building five housing cities simultaneously, and launching partnership programs with the private sector, which contributed to reducing waiting periods for benefiting from the housing service.
  
His Excellency also appreciated the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to give the social housing sector the utmost importance in the government’s program (2023-2026), as it is one of the most prominent components of achieving living stability for citizens.
  
During the visit, His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the city and its facilities, and also listened to an explanation about the ongoing construction work in the project.
His Excellency also inaugurated the work of implementing the units of the second phase, which includes the construction of 531 housing units, directing His Excellency to increase the pace of work in implementing the units in order to ensure the speedy delivery of them to citizens who have obtained certificates of eligibility, and in this regard, praising the efforts of the Bahrain team responsible for implementing the project,
Which resulted in the completion of the implementation of 1,077 housing units in the first phase.
  
Then His Excellency inspected one of the model units that had been established as part of the first phase of the project. Her Excellency recalled the kindness of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, in opening the city earlier last December, in a generous gesture from His Highness that embodies the government’s keenness to improve the quality of services and develop them in a sustainable manner.
  
Minister Al-Rumaihi pointed out that the East Sitra housing project is a model of an integrated city that provides all the elements of quality of life, including residential units, green areas, and advanced networks of main and secondary roads, in addition to waterfronts, and paths designated for bicycle and pedestrian sports. The second phase will also include The project implemented many service, educational, health and commercial facilities.
Her Excellency announced that the Ministry has prepared a timetable to deliver the keys to the units to citizens after the beneficiaries complete the electronic withdrawal procedures and hand over the contracts, provided that all residential units are delivered to the beneficiaries within the first phase of work before the end of May 2024.
