The Equal Opportunities Committee at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning held its fourth regular meeting, headed by Ms. Donia Faisal Sarhan, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Information at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, where the Ministry’s plan to celebrate Bahraini Women’s Day, and ways to enhance opportunities to support women in the Ministry’s various departments and divisions, were reviewed and discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sarhan appreciated the approval of the esteemed Council of Ministers on the decision to restructure the standards related to the fifth category eligible for housing service, which comes in response to the recommendation of the Supreme Council for Women on the necessity of expanding this category, noting that the Ministry spares no effort in supporting women, whether at the administrative level or at the administrative level. Through the housing services it provides to this category of society.
The Chairperson of the Committee also praised the launch of the Supreme Council for Women’s training program (Tawazun) dedicated to government cadres, specifically equal opportunity committees, in coordination with the Institute of Public Administration, which will begin its first stages in the coming weeks in an effort to build and develop the capabilities of members of equal opportunity committees in public sector institutions.
The committee then reviewed a number of proposals and initiatives related to supporting women in housing, in addition to reviewing the work plan of the Equal Opportunities Committee and what it achieved during the previous period in terms of initiatives to support women in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
