Minister Amna al-Rumaihi said that the Royal High Directive to provide 50 1,000 new housing units is an extension of His Majesty's high care for the social housing sector throughout the housing march. s efforts to provide thousands of housing services to citizens over the past years, Through the Ministry's construction of projects in housing complexes and cities as well as expanding partnership with the private sector and supporting this vital sector in providing housing projects, and the diversification of financing options, characterized by immediate and rapid access to adequate housing.
The Minister confirmed that the Ministry, in coordination with the Housing Bank, began immediately after the High Directive to establish a joint working group to develop the lines of the executive plan. The main features of this plan will be the construction of projects in cities through the modernization of housing cities, Support is also provided to the private sector to increase the frequency of housing projects in cities and housing complexes, as well as to continue efforts to provide and develop funding programmes.
Minister Al-Rumaihi noted that the allocation of the largest budget for financing social housing projects in the general budget bill for 2025-2026 with a total value of 800 million dinars and the consequence of using this budget to provide thousands of housing services that vary from housing projects to funding programmes, Reflects the ability to implement His Majesty's vision and aspirations in providing 50 1,000 housing units and the provision of adequate housing to citizens in order to contribute to the prosperity of Bahraini families.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning noted that the Housing Bank will play a major role in the next phase of providing housing projects and programmes, contributing to the overall plan to implement the Royal High Directive, by providing the necessary support to increase the inventory of the real estate sector, thereby providing the necessary support to citizens by diversifying their housing options and obtaining housing service without prolonged waiting periods.
