Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, affirmed that allocating a day every year for sports activity reflects the esteemed government's interest in sports and the human values it represents in building and developing societies to take their place in the ranks of developed countries.

Al-Romaihi explained that the Bahrain Sports Day contributes to spreading positive energy in the social environment of individuals and institutions, improving the quality of life and enhancing it in society, instilling values of happiness that help production and giving, maintaining health and safety, and contributing to the creation of a disease-free sports society.

This came during the organization of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning various sporting events at the site of the Salman City project to celebrate the Bahrain Sports Day, with the participation of the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning and senior officials of the Ministry and its employees. The events included a variety of sports activities, such as a group walking marathon, a cycling tour, and table tennis competitions.

Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi indicated that the reason for choosing the Salman City project to hold the Sports Day event is due to its distinction, along with other new cities in Bahrain, in providing suitable spaces for practicing sports, through the availability of walking paths, as well as bicycle paths, stressing that The government of the Kingdom of Bahrain has been keen to provide standards of quality of life in residential cities, as part of its vision to implement sustainability standards and improve housing services provided to citizens.

For their part, the employees of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning expressed their happiness at participating in the activities of the Bahrain Sports Day, expressing their thanks to the wise leadership and the esteemed government for adopting such health initiatives, which contribute to spreading awareness of the importance of exercising and following healthy lifestyles.
