The social housing sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain continues to receive sustained care and attention within the framework of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may God protect him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him. The Government remains committed to advancing the housing services system and strengthening its sustainability in a manner that meets citizens’ aspirations and enhances quality of life.
The Royal directive of His Majesty the King, may God protect him, to provide 50,000 new housing units represents an advanced milestone in the development of the housing sector, underscoring the leadership’s commitment to accelerating the delivery of housing services, reinforcing family stability, and expanding access to housing programs.
The Government has commenced implementation of this directive through integrated housing plans based on expanding housing projects, providing land, strengthening partnerships with the private sector, and diversifying housing and financing solutions.
Within this framework, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has developed an integrated package of housing finance programs, foremost among them “Tas’heel,” “Tas’heel+,” and “Tomooh,” through effective partnerships with financing banks and the real estate sector.
The Government Land Development Rights Program is also witnessing continuous expansion through the implementation of a portfolio of projects in partnership with the private sector across several regions of the Kingdom. This contributes to optimizing the utilization of government land, delivering integrated and sustainable residential communities, and expanding housing supply. These projects have been implemented with high efficiency, generating strong demand among citizens benefiting from housing finance services, with units in these projects selling out within record timeframes.
The Ministry continues to implement housing projects in new cities, foremost among them Salman City, Khalifa City, Al Hidd Housing City, Sitra Housing City, and Al Ramli Suburb, in accordance with a modern planning vision that emphasizes sustainability, quality of life, and integrated services and facilities.
In pursuit of institutional excellence, the Ministry has achieved significant qualitative accomplishments in recent years, crowned by numerous regional and international awards in housing, urban planning, digital transformation, project quality, and customer service excellence. These achievements reflect the efficiency of the institutional framework, the success of strategic partnerships, and a firm commitment to applying best practices in the development of the housing sector.
The Ministry also continues to advance its plan to enhance electronic housing services and streamline procedures in support of digital transformation, contributing to improved service delivery efficiency, faster completion of procedures, greater transparency, and an enhanced beneficiary experience.
In conclusion, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning affirms its continued commitment to implementing the Royal directives through the development of housing programs and initiatives, the diversification of solutions, and the strengthening of partnerships, in a manner that ensures the sustainable provision of suitable housing for citizens, accelerates access to housing services, enhances quality of life, and supports the Kingdom of Bahrain’s comprehensive development goals.
