Achievements of the Ministry - 2016 - Khalifa Town
Khalifa Town
Khalifa Town Project began in 2016, and this project witnessed a
cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and Prince Charles Charitable
Institution, to set a plan for a new housing city between Asker, Jow and Dorr
villages.
This project dates back to 2012, when His Majest King Hamad bin
Isa Al Khalifa visited the United Kingdom, as well as the visit of His Royal
Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime
Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also visited the United Kingdom in
2007, when the Ministry of Housing was directed to cooperate with Prince
Charles Charitable Institution to implement the project.
Prince Charles Charitable Institution set up a contemporary plan
in February 2015, that included meeting the needs of the town and ensures the
privacy and traditions of its people. The project included 4,576 housing unit
distributed across 3 villages.
