Establishment of the Housing and Ownership Committee
In 1962, decree 2 was issued to establish the Housing and Ownership Department, that provided healthy and suitable housings for citizens with low and middle income, in exchange of monthly installments that matches their salaries.
The decree stipulated appointing the following:
1. Ali Abdulrahman Al Wazzan.
2. Abdulla Ghuloom.
3. Sadeq Mohamed Al Baharna.
4. Ahmed Al Omran.
The decree stipulated the following: “We are Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Ruler of Bahrain, in order to facilitate the lives of people with low and middle income, and according to what was presented by the financial chairman, we decided to issue the following decree:
Topic 1: The financial department should form an administrative body called the housing and ownership department, and be responsible for supervising housing and ownership projects, and providing all requirements of the department and be under the supervision of the chairman of finance.
Topic 2: Forming a consultation committee called housing and ownership consultation committee and cooperate with the administrative body in the housing and ownership department, and study different methods to implement the project and submit the necessary suggestions and proposals for it.
Topic 3: The chairman of finance should prepare the lands and allocate the necessary financing needed to implement the project.
Topic 4: All government officials should implement the decisions issued by the chairman of finance in this regard.
Topic 5: The decree should be implemented from the date of its issuance.
